Colorful Spray Paint Assignment

A cool assignment like this requires a lot of work but in the end I am proud of what came out. We had to start off with choosing a picture that shows emotion and I chose a picture of my mom who is laughing. Then we were told to put only 3 colors into the image and i chose pink, purple, and yellow. (My final project colors turned out to be orange, dark purple, and yellow) Then we projected our pictures onto a poster board and we had to trace each color on different posters. For me, I had to trace the pink shapes on one poster board and then I also had to do trace the purple and yellow shapes on 2 different poster boards. After this we had to cut out the traces and used the posters as stencils. Next we had to get a peice of cardboard and paint it. I chose to do yellow paint because I thought it would stand out more. Then we taped one stencil on the cardboard at a time. The first stencil I taped on was for the color orange because that was the more dominant color. I then sprayed the cardboard with orange spray paint and I began waiting for it to dry, then I tape the second poster board which is for purple spray paint and I repeated this process (also with the yellow spay paint). I thought this project turned out well because I could see the value and it looks quite similiar to the actual picture I printed out. The worst part of this was when the smell of the spray paint just got in your head. I would like to do more projects like this and try different pictures to spray paint but without such a big headache.
